We live in a newer housing development. We sodded our lawn so we would not have to deal with the pesky weeds. Well... the yard does look great. Even though the grass is neatly compacted together, there are tiny spaces of dirt where weeds still thrive. It bugs me.
Today, it hit me that that is exactly what sin does in our lives. It sneeks in slowly and, if we let it, can thrive. It bugs me!
Weeds are so stubborn to remove, just as sin is stubborn. And, they both keep coming back to haunt us.
God is the only one who can remove the sin. It is up to us to ask him for forgiveness and start fresh. And, thankfully, he graciously does -- time and time again.
And fortunately, I have some weed spray and tools to deal with the weeds.
Thank you Lord.
