Our son has never really enjoyed sleep...As a baby, he took mini naps, unless he was in the baby swing.. As he got older, he's had trouble with fears and worries before going to sleep. Then, if he falls asleep only to wake up an hour later... he can't go back to sleep. It goes in streaks... We are in another of those patterns. We have talked it out, covering the physical and spiritual sides. It is frustrating when you get to a point where you don't know what to do... except cry out to God! He finds comfort on our bedroom floor, on the really hard nights. Well, last week God spoke through his Holy word.. LOUD and CLEAR!
Darin volunteered to memorize a verse for his involvement in an upcoming church service. Before I gave him the verse, which was amongst a list of four, he picked it out: Psalm 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.
I thought, "Yes"... he does know God is with him and will protect him and give him peace, he just has to believe it. Jeff calls me later in the day and said, "Guess what the Life verse is on the radio Sunday?" That same verse! Wow, God's voice speaking to us.. He is in control. He knows the struggles. He will see us through. We are seeing some progress this week.. Thank you Lord!
