Birthday Blessings

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. (Psalm 139:13-18 NIV) As I reflect on my 41 years of life, I praise my Heavenly Father for knitting me together and making me a masterpiece. I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father placed me in a loving, Christian family.. with my earthly mother and FATHER! As a baby, my earthly father loved me, held me, spoke soothing words, played with me and prayed for me. My earthly father taught me about my Heavenly Father. My father taught me about God's truths in the bible. He taught me that Jesus suffered and died for me and my sins on the cross. He taught me that God loves me; and if I put my faith and trust in God, I will have eternal life with him in heaven. My Heavenly Father ordained my days, even before I came to be. He ordained my earthly father's days. Because I have put my faith, trust and belief in God, I will one day live in eternity with my earthly and Heavenly Father! Praise God for this promise. It gives me hope to carry on each day, setting my eyes on things above. My Heavenly Father never leaves me nor forsakes me. He will be with me to the end. Even though I am sad my father is not here to celebrate my birthday, I know I will see him again. I am thankful for all the times I could hear my father say, "Happy Birthday."
